We took a break from TIER when we finished playtesting. When we were ready to play TIER again, we decided to start a new low-level campaign. So we started a new campaign for Nobles, Rebels, and Drillers using 1st level characters.
I am very busy with my school teaching job, lifeguarding job, and college master's degree classes. I hope that other players post about our campaign. However, I will try to post whenever possible.
We have three main characters. I am the Game Master and playing Roaric, a rich kobold archer. I have high AC and use a shortbow. Bobby plays a half-orc wrestler. He uses blocking, unarmed combat, and grappling. Anthony plays an elf assassin. He likes to hide, move silently, and sneak attack enemies.

I'm Roaric the kobold warrior. I was born in the wild, but captured as a baby and raised by Nobles. I received an excellent education, worked as a craftsman, fought in underground pit battles, and even worked as a restaurant waiter/manager. Eventually I became friends with two half-orc warriors, an assassin/chef, and a bard. The assassin saved my life from a sniper, employed me at his restaurant, and rescued me from boredom with my noble family. Ironically, the assassin was assassinated by a Rebel while sleeping at night.
My noble father and family gave us a mission to go to the forest and cause trouble for the Rebels. He wanted us to scare the Rebels and show them that they couldn't get away with doing whatever they wanted. So we ventured forth.
I bought a pony to ride, but my friends were very cheap and chose to travel by foot...big mistake. The adventure took three days to complete and we barely survived! We ran into tons of trouble on the way. We fought hippogriffs, orcs, vultures, an ogre, and Rebels. We drank potions, slept in ditches and outside surrounded by corpses of creatures we had killed. It was a disgusting and horrible experience, but I learned a lot about adventuring and the wild.
The funniest part was when Alto, the bard, was singing on our journey home. His singing attracted two killer dinosaurs! Two T-rexes charged our group and I ditched them with my pony. I believe in loyalty, but not in suicide. Thankfully, the half-orcs outran the dinosaurs and Alto dove into a ditch right before the T-rex could bite his ass. We all made it home safely, showered, and slept till noon.

Hi everyone, I have also created a character to participate in the Noble, Rebel, & Driller Campaign. At level 1, I created a half-orc who focused on strength and has an extraordinary grapple. If he gets his hands on you, that's it! We are now a level 5 party and my character has evolved into an effective tank. He can now regenerate life (2 hp every 6 seconds!), block attacks, and has mastered grappling, disarming, and Bull-rush.
Not only is it terribly hard to take this guy down, he has an interesting story based around a newly formed allegiance to the God of Joy - Jubilee. In the beginning, he was rescued from prison by a priestess who sought to employ him as a guard for her church. She became the only person my character has come to trust and also, he is determined to be with her. However, he suffers hardships that prevent him from doing that and he will need to grow above them to succeed. For example, he is not good looking and in no way suave; but more importantly, he has no tongue! He suffered a tragic experience in his path where someone had cut it out. The culprit is still at large, and there will be revenge! For the meantime, he enjoys turkey legs, visiting well-paid lovers, and spreading joy.

I realized that I missed some important details in describing my half-orc above. Firstly, he has no known name, because during the traumatic experience of having his tongue cut from his mouth, he was unable to remember his past; whether it was due to the trauma or some mystical spell, is unknown.
What he has not yet come to learn, is that in fact, his name was "Gorbag", which means violence, impetus, haste. Gorbag had a lot of red in his ledger, had been an adamant follower of Hulgoth (God of war), and was hunted for his many crimes. One of the families that he directly ruined, captured him, and decided to mummify him. In the process, they were able to cut out his tongue and were about to begin draining the blood from his body, but that's when everything changed. Hulgoth himself got involved and saved his devoted follower. He directed a blast at the chamber Gorbag was expected to miserably spend eternity in, and destroyed it, setting everyone unconscious but also destroying Gorbag's past memories. Hulgoth sent some orcs and goblins to retrieve Gorbag's limp body and begin taking it to his palace in order to train him into a dark warrior. While crossing some great plains, they nurtured him back to health but then trouble found them. Gorbag, confused and scared, fled the scene during a battle. He had no clue who he was or what he had just fled from, he could not speak, and he was starving. He ended up in a far-away city where he found food but managed to also find himself in prison for aggressively seeking pleasure. This is when the priestess rescued him.

Last night was a wild and crazy TIER session. I, Roaric, got eaten alive and killed by Dire Lions!!!!!! Let me tell you how this session went from awesome to horrible very quickly. We've been doing a lot lately. Our orc companions fought in gladiator battles. We rescued slaves from the Nobles, who work with Drow and have a super complex underground slavery ring! We have completed quests for the church that involve orphan children and finding their parents. We also took caravans and completed quests outside the city. We became friends with Felnir, a bronze dragon who enjoys Alto's singing. We made friends with the Drillers and started trading goods and services. We made friends with the Rebels in the forest and helped them improve their weapons, armor, and home defenses with steel and mithral. Our orc companions had personal interelations with a few rebel women and almost got us all kicked out of the Rebels. All was great until our group drank alcohol with the Rebels and tried venturing back to the noble city in the middle of the night. We weren't ready for a dangerous pride of Dire Lions. I was driving the caravan because our driver was drunk and asleep. I couldn't fight efficiently while driving the caravan and Alto was not very helpful either. A Dire Lion pounced upon me and ripped my body apart. I woke up with Felnir the dragon and everyone looking at me. He used powerful magic to resurrect me, but at a great cost. My friends gave up a lot of money and goods, including my Charisma ring, to resurrect me. But I am now eternally grateful. I never thought they would revive me if I died. It makes me feel important and wanted.

We finally make it back home to the noble city. When we arrive, however, the head caravan tradesman tells us that our two orc friends have "Wanted" posters all over the city! They are wanted for kidnapping three priestesses and there's a 500 gp reward for each of them. This was really bad.
Using my stealth skills, I managed to get our group safely back to the church without being noticed. Then I ventured out for an hour to try and find out where the priestesses were taken. I searched for trap doors and well-guarded areas in the city. I soon found a group of 4 shady guys hanging around a fire in an alleyway where the working class lives. They looked like pirates.
I returned back to the group and only saw the priestesses and some stupid looking statues. Then one of the statues started scratching its balls and I soon realized that the orcs had been painted to look like statues! What a great idea! I told everyone about the trap door location and as we began leaving, a priestess decided to come with us. This was great because Alto had disappeared.
We snuck over to the alleyway. Our orc with the missing tongue filled a large potato sack with dirt. Alto, who disappeared when we arrived back in town, suddenly walked out into the open light and started playing his music! Two out of the four pirates walked over and listened to the music. The orc ran over and threw his sack of dirt onto the fire and put it out. The rest of us attacked the pirates and took them out swiftly. One pirate tried to run away and get help, but I shot a lucky arrow at the back of his head...
I opened the trap door, let everyone go inside, then I covered the trap door with dirt and debris before slipping inside with our group. This new area looked nice. It seemed like sleeping quarters for guards. We snuck around hallways, opened a few rooms, and surprise attacked guards while using our statue orcs and the priestess as decoys. But that trick soon failed and alarmed all the guards! We fought our way through another door, then I jammed the lock and covered up the door as best as I could.
This new area had a stairway that led down into a dungeon. It was grimy and smelled so awful that our priestess puked. It was a large area, similar to a warehouse. There were about 30 slaves working down here and plenty of guards. We asked the priestess to lure the guards over to us. She did one hell of a job. This priestess surely has a body worth showing off.
Three guards walked over and I killed one with two shots! the orcs began attacking the others and soon all of the guards came over to fight us. Thank god we had a priestess with us. Yarr, one of our orc friends, went unconscious twice and she healed him. We slowly took out the guards until a priest came from another room and launched divine Flame Strike spells. We all blocked or jumped out of the way and took minor damage, but the priestess couldn't escape and fell unconscious.
We continued fighting and more guards came in from behind after busting down the door. We somehow managed to defeat all our enemies and survive. I rushed over to the priestess and quickly closed her wounds. The orc gave her a cure potion, picked her up, and all the slaves cheered. The three missing priestesses also came out from within the slaves and thanked us for rescuing them.
We all marched out into the sunrise and there were guards ready to arrest us. But the mob of slaves start cursing and yelling out that we saved their lives. They were ready to fight the guards and all the noise woke up civilians. There were now hundreds of people outside cheering, questioning, and listening to the situation. More guards came and so did priestesses from the church. It was a close call, but everyone convinced the guards that were heroes instead of criminals. Feeling defeated, the guards all left and the priestesses insisted that we stay at the church for a while until the situation was cleared up completely and legally.
Today was a large success as the people now realized the existence of corruption amongst the nobles. They could not cover up this enslavement incident. Many things, both good and bad, will happen here in the city during the next few weeks.
As we returned to the church for rest, we found a letter from the Drillers. It stated that if we joined the Drillers, we would receive missions, rewards, and an army to support us if we ever sought to destroy the Nobles. This was a hard bargain. We've got proof that some of the Nobles are corrupt and evil. But I do not believe my family and all nobles are evil. They may be greedy and competitive, but not all evil. My family transformed me into an intelligent and useful kobold, unlike most of my kind. I will not betray my family and noble heritage so quickly until I know more about the Drillers.

In support of the two above passages, the last couple sessions have been very deadly, very difficult, and with only a blip in time where it was peaceful. Not much else can be said about the adventures that hasnt already been stated except that the priestess who aided us was the head lady at the church and that my orc warrior, Gorbag, really fancies her. In his mind, she is "HIS" priestess. Watching her get hurt in battle has worried him tremendously about bringing her along again. Unfortunately, some of our party is reliant on her healing powers and we would have seen many deaths without her. Even with my characters ability to regenerate health and become enraged with more power, death was very close-by. It's hard to tell whether or not you should let the closest person you care for to be put in danger when at the same time you need her to help keep everyone alive. She is as fragile as Gorbag's heart, and to lose her would result in unimaginable devastation. The goddess Jubilee must definitely recognize that, and that it would cause her to not only lose her bravest soldier and devoted follower, but to possibly watch him become full of hatred.

Let me provide some insight on our party. We have three players plus the GM who has his own character, thus making it a 4-player party. I will explain them in the following order: A) Gorbag, Orc - Leader, Grappler B) Yarr, Orc - Bane of any boss C) Roaric, Kobold - Sharp-shooter, crowd control D) Alto, Human - Charisma user, crowd control The most joyful but wild hearted is the Orc, Gorbag. He is hopelessly enamored by "HIS" priestess and has decided to follow the Goddess Jubilee in order to become closer to her. He is terribly unattractive and has no tongue which makes charisma a bad path for him, but he has a sensational desire to spread happiness to people, and that's why he has made great friends. Because he is so determined to be with the priestess, he has gone on many expeditions to fight for what he now believes in, providing purpose to him and his followers. Through this action, he has effectively taken the leadership position. He is slowly making his way into the heart of HIS priestess, but has not yet come to realize that his frequent visits to the nearby brothel are not helping him. Had he not been on their VIP list, he may have gotten what he wants most by now. As for combat, to put it in short, Gorbag is very good with his body and grappling.
Another Orc, whose sexuality is uncertain, walks around with a Rapier and a ridiculous critical hit range. He is one of the heavy-hitters of the group. He has a 40% chance of tripling his usual damage! He is not a force any weak soul should bother trifling with. He is not entirely interested in most social activities; he mostly hungers for battle. The only time he really cares for anything else is when there is alcohol or a sexual opportunity available.
Next we have the GM's character, Roaric, who thinks he is hot shit. Gorbag puts him in his place when he sees things are getting out of control. Thankfully, the forces of the world were able to bring death his way, to help humble his self-centered mind when he was resurrected. He is a 10 year old Kobold that has mega damage output and proves very difficult to hit with most physical forces. He is very skillful and continues to use that to the party's advantage. Its easy to get carried away with that kind of power, but he will need to be very wary of spell casters soon. He could become an easy target for them. As for social settings, he has recently been found to have a sexual relationship with a 15 year old priestess...this is wrong on so many levels, but Garbag cannot stop people from experiencing Joy so he just watches from afar to do what he can to prevent anything bad from happening to them. Roaric has grown into peoples hearts by being dependable and brave.
Last but not least, we have a strange character who is completely obsessed with himself and would believe that he is the most important person in the party. Alto has three primary functions. He sings beautifully, so magnificent, that it grants magical powers to his allies. Second, he uses a tower-shield that not only makes him supremely hard to hit, but provides him huge bonuses to trampling over crowds of enemies and knocking them to the floor. His third primary use, is his slick tongue. He can negotiate us out of trouble or into places he wants to be. For the moment, he has shown his friends that he is a good person, but his true desires remain unknown; making them very suspicious of him.

We had an interesting session recently. We were employed by the "good" nobles to seek and unearth the "bad" ones. We have some leads that we have been following to seek out and have been plundering into tough situations. Our most common of recent activities has been hunting within the city for these underground fortresses where corrupt nobles have been running slave trades. Our original intention was to find families of children who've lost their parents. (The church Gorbag belongs to for harbors them and we fight for them.) Eventually, it has cast the heroic glow upon us, hence the reason the good nobles employed us. Anyways, back to the point - we were pushing our way through some sort of underground enemy barracks, just doing our usual, frolicking in the fields and beating up bad guys, no big deal, and then BAM, an enormous chain of fire whips out of nowhere and we narrowly avoid it. We at first, decide this is strange trap so we decide to pick another route and disarm it...to put it simply, we didnt find a trap...we found a Red Dragon who was looking at us as steak and treasures. He was extremely brutal to us and if not for a lot of luck and a little bit of skill, we would've been skewered! Our only advantage was the narrow hallways we were combating in made it difficult for the beast to attack. Gorbag barely managed to grapple the dragon, which postponed the dragons wrath long enough for his team to take advantage of his vulnerable situation. The dragon took his last action to put Gorbag unconscious. The dragon at least perished assuming it took somebody with him; I say assuming because Gorbag naturally regenerates and came back to health in minutes! It was close though. Had he struck any harder and it would've resulted in death.

RIP: Yarr
After defeating the Dragon, we came upon many riches. Without talking to anyone about his plans, Yarr decided he would use his money towards a noble cause and happily surprise us all by buying the freedom of a man who was the only parent left of two orphaned children living under the churches care. Unfortunately, the casino that held him prisoner for his grand debt decided to make life difficult and said they now wanted interest on his release. Yarr grew infuriated at this and decided to release his wrath upon them. It was brave, but in the end, costed him his life! He was outnumbered but decided that he needed to finish what he started. He found fire and managed to burn down the building as he bled everywhere. This was enough to cause unrest in the area and that alarmed the rest of us. We were able to rescue the father, but Yarr was not only dead, but charred to a crisp. We buried him and paid our respects. "We will see you when it's our turn, brother." is the thought that Gorbag conveyed to his friends.

Felnir, our dragon friend, saved our butts in a recent battle. As a favor, he asked us to investigate the city beyond the forest in order to collect "shiny" objects. He wants money...typical dragon. So we pretend to be the nobles we just killed in battle. We dress up in their outfits and spend 8 hours driving a caravan through a blizzard! Luckily I've improved my driving skills and avoided all dangers, although we did hear screams of agony and creatures roaring in the distance.
We made it to a settlement with large metal gates and Tieflings and Drow! They all live here. They spoke Undercommon and I'm the only one who knows that language! What bad luck...I'm not too good about talking with people. That's Alto's job. But I managed to pull it off, barely. I lied and said we were here to pick up slaves and cargo and they believed it!
This is where things got tricky…I had to appraise the slaves! There were all kinds of slaves, different races of people, ages, colors, muscle builds, health, not to mention their mental capacity. Slave business is really complex and involves all types of knowledge. We were expected to pick the right ones or else the slavers may suspect that we’re lying about our identities. I’m proud to say that I did a great job! I did so well that I even caught the slaver trying to sell me a useless slave and I chewed him out. Things were going well until they wanted me to go alone into a separate room to pick the final 3 female slaves…the more sexual types.
I was afraid they might interrogate me alone, so Alto made a smart move and went in for me. He asked for someone who spoke his language. When in the separate room, he used his bardic music to control the man and have him select the last 3 slaves. This was a genius idea. We finally began leaving the Tiefling and Drow settlement, but someone figured out our true identities and caravans began chasing us! Like a bad-ass, I was able to drive us out safely, even through the damn blizzard! Alto made a major sacrifice and sang for hours in order to hasten and fortify our horses.
Hours later, we arrived back at the rebel forest. I was exhausted and so were the horses. I hid the caravan and horses for 4 hours and I slept happily. Eventually the rebels found us and helped us all back to their village…what a big mistake. We should have made scouted, hunted, and made sure we weren’t being followed. Sure enough, the rebel village was attacked while we were sleeping. We woke up, fought against the invaders, killed most of them, but the damage was done.
The rebels were angry. Many Drow and Tiefling invaders attacked the forest. Homes were burned down, people killed, chaos destroyed their peaceful place and it was our fault. Lala, the village elder’s daughter, came out with her husband and he was pissed! He accused us, the outsiders, of ruining their way of life and interfering with their affairs. Alto made things way worse by threatening them and cursing their way of life and point of view. They kicked us out of the forest…total failure.
We should have apologized and offered to do a quest or favor to make up for this tragic event, but Alto screwed us. He let his anger and pride get the best of him. Hopefully we’ll have a chance to help the Rebels and repent for our mistake in the future, or else we may be fighting against them one day alongside the nobles and/or drillers.

We went through a lot in the past month. My father sent us on a crazy quest, 3 days away from the noble city, into "The Temple of Doom" and survived. Killed lots of people, undead, Drillers, and Rebels. We also saved Lala's husband from dying. He can be a real asshole sometimes, but he means well and wishes to protect the Rebels' interests.
Basically, we restored our relationship with the Rebels and improved our relationship with the Drillers by finding an ancient amulet of power and giving it to the Drillers. Chink, our Driller ally, explained how they use it to power their war forges and it was stolen by Alto's cousin, a female fire mage. Her and I became friends and worked together to create magic items for the party. We also found lots of treasure that can only be unlocked by a dragon, so we gave it to our dragon friend Felnir. He now guards the "Temple of Doom". Later on, we'll clean it out of all monsters and traps to make it a nicer place.
We spent a month making magic items, improving the church, and building the underground tunnels between the church and Rebel village in the forest. All was going well until we received separate letters from the Nobles and Drillers. The Nobles wanted us to meet at a fancy ballroom dance inside the royal castle tonight and the Drillers wanted to meet us outside the city.
First, we went to the royal castle and spoke with the prince and king of the Nobles. They wanted our group to pledge allegiance to them and join their quest to the Drow city of Menzoberranzen. Their quest is to free all humans of our noble city who were captured and enslaved in the Drow city. I was up for it, but our orc friend and Alto were totally against it because they didn't want to pledge allegiance to the Nobles.
The Nobles also said thay we didn't have to pledge total allegiance, but they wanted us to promise not to betray them. This sounded reasonable to me, but the orc and Alto argued, lied, and insulted the Nobles. They even tried lecturing the king! They immediately kicked us out of the castle. I'm happy we made it out of there alive. My friends are retards.
Later that night, we met up with the Drillers outside the city. They were planning on attacking the royal castle! I thought this was a crazy idea, especially because my father might be there since he's a noble. It's also a crazy idea because our church is in the noble city. I listened to the whole plan and my friends agreed to join, but I knew that I shouldn't. I am loyal to my friends, but I am a Noble myself.
I spoke to my father and told him not to go to the royal castle dance tonight. Alto helped me as well. But my father was more persistent and spoke to me in private. He said that if he thought I was doing something stupid or something I felt may be wrong, then he would show up to interfere. Knowing this, I told my friends that I could not join them in the castle raid. I felt like I was letting them down, but my family had to come first.
On the night of the castle raid, I stayed with my family, ate dinner, and had fun. I felt in the right place for the first time of my life. Adventuring with my friends has been a blast, but sometimes you must go back to your roots. My family, despite our past differences, is very close to my heart. After dinner, My father sincerely hugged me for the first time and I was glad. I felt like I had made the right decision. I cannot say the same for my friends.

Our biggest church quest yet...rescuing all slaves from the Drow/Tiefling town. We teamed up with Rebels and Drillers to complete this quest. They agreed to help us so long as they received all resources from the town. We didn't care about the resources, we just wanted to free the slaves.
Unfortunately, I had to stay behind and help do paperwork. Due to my stupid friends attacking the Nobles, we had to make the church people move to the Rebel forest. But we couldn't just leave for no good reason. I created fake budget documents explaining that the church is going on a major expedition around the world to earn more revenue and new recruits. I sent messages to the Rebel leaders and got everyone packed and ready to leave with their most important goods. I escorted all of the church caravans, fought a few monsters along the way, and reached the outpost. The priestesses healed me and I continued alone to the forest.
I met up with my friends on the far side of the forest and took a 4-hour break to eat and sleep. That's when disaster struck.
A large fiery boulder crashed into the caravan next to us. Tieflings and Drow had established a hidden perimeter with catapults and warriors ready to assault us. We took them all out, but with great casualties. All of the Rebels who were helping us died in battle. Only one Driller died, so the remaining Drillers jumped into our caravan and we continued onward to the Drow/Tiefling town. One rebel spell caster from the forest joined us as well. Fortunately, we managed to salvage a catapult and dragged it with us to use in the next attack.
We reached the Drow/Tiefling town and our enemies were waiting for us. Our Rebel spell caster created forests and obstacles to entangle and slow the enemies down. He also summoned creatures and cast deadly elemental magic. Our other Driller and Rebel friends fought the enemies while the orc and I snuck into the town to free he slaves. Unfortunately, we ran into trouble and had to fight our way through.
We finally reached the slaves and it was a large round room filled with magical darkness. We couldn't see anything! The orc broke the door and bolts and arrows flew through the open doorway. We fought blindly against two annoying archers and two swordsman. The archers shot at us blindly, missing more than half the time. The swordsman, however, knew exactly where we were at all times and almost killed us.
After opening jail locks and freeing many slaves, I had to temporarily leave the room. The orc stayed and continued fighting. I drank a few potions, tumbled back inside, and continued firing arrows blindly and opening jail locks. Eventually, we killed all the enemies, freed all the slaves, and left victorious. I drank all of my last 20 cure potions.....that shows how close I came to death.
We walked outside and it seemed like the battlefield was clear. Some of our allies were dead, others were unconscious or tired. We helped them for a bit, then we saw an army of 16 orcs marching toward us! Their leader called out to my orc friend saying "You bastard! How could you fight for Jubilee? You used to be one of us! You used to follow Hulgoth, the one and only true warrior god. You will pay for this crime with your life!"
The orc leader charged with his rapier and stabbed my friend through the chest! The orcs surrounded us and we fought for our lives. Even while being grappled, the beast of a man continued stabbing, causing blood to gush out everywhere. Between my arrows and the orcs' slashing and bashing, it was a disgusting blood bath.
In the end, we barely won and I had finally obtained a new ability...regeneration. I've been trying to toughen up ever since I was killed by Dire Lions a while ago. Now with regeneration, hopefully I will never die or let my friends down ever again.

Gorbag the orc has finally discovered his past memories...we all found out thanks to Felnir the bronze dragon! What a bad-ass! Not only did he reveal all of Gorbag's past, using arcane magic, he also told off Alto!
Alto has been a huge dick lately. He has no remorse for killing any good nobles. He also didn't care about my father. My father would have died if I had not kept him away from the royal castle, but Alto didn't care. Alto wouldn't even apologize or at least admit to making a mistake. He thinks that he has full right to do whatever he wants. I have a feeling karma will smack his ego down a notch one day.
Gorbag had an evil past, but now he's repenting for it by working with Felnir. He's completing quests, training, and learning the ways of dragons. Alto wanted to join, but Felnir refused him; thank God for that! I'm going to keep training with the rebels, studying books, and help our allies plan for the upcoming war with the Nobles. I don't want to fight, but I'll do whatever it takes to help our allies survive.

In support of Michael's passage above, Gorbag is extremely excited to spend so much time alone with Felnir. He can communicate normally with him (better than with any of his allies), he can express his interests without being looked at stupidly, and he can go money swimming! Gorbag and Felnir share a favorite pass-time of diving into Felnir's loot and swimming around. It takes extreme strength to do this and Gorbag will get an insane workout out of it. It will let him begin to achieve the strength of a dragon. Eventually, Gorbag may actually partially turn into one. He has always been fascinated by Felnir's breath ability, not to mention that Felnir can become colossal in size at will, has super strength, and can FLY! I could not describe Gorbag's desires more!
