Transformation Masteries grant phenomenal power. They define your character's personality and serve as a goal or stepping stone to greatness. If you fulfill specific pre-requisites, you may select a Transformation Mastery at 16th level. Each Transformation Mastery provides unique abilities, stat boosts, and physical/mental changes. Here's a taste of some of the Transformation Masteries you can take at 16th level: - Air, Earth, Fire, or Water Elemental
- Half-Dragon
- Racial Paragon

Half-Dragon: You now have many physical features of a dragon type you choose. Gain darkvision and low-light vision 60 ft., +4 natural AC, and +3 on Fort. saves. Immune to magical sleep and paralysis. Gain 2 claw attacks and a bite that are considered magical weapons and each deal 1 damage + Str mod. You grow dragon wings and fly at your base speed with average maneuverability. Gain a breath weapon of acid, electricity, fire, or cold. You are immune to whichever element you choose and you can use your breath weapon once per combat as a standard action. It deals damage equal to 8 + half your character level and can be fired in a 30 ft. cone or a 60 ft. line. Your opponents must make a Reflex save DC equal to 10 + half your character level + your Con mod. for half damage. Your maximum life span increases by 500 years. You also gain the following: +6 Str, +2 Con, +2 Int, and +2 Cha. Pre-req: Any one of the following Personality Masteries: Clumsy, Deep Thinker, Environmentalist, Flirtatious, Healthy, Lover Boy, Positive Lifestyle. Special: You must befriend or kill a dragon of 16 HD or higher.

Racial Paragon: Your experiences have made you stronger than anyone in your race. Gain darkvision and low-light vision 30 ft. or extend your own if you already have it. Gain blindsight 15 ft. or extend your own if you already have it. Gain +1 Natural AC, +5 base speed, +3 on all dice rolls, and +1 damage for all attacks (melee, ranged, and magic). Gain energy resistance fire 2, cold 2, acid 2, and electricity 2. Your maximum life span increases by 100 years. You also gain +2 Str, +2 Dex, +2 Con, +2 Int, +2 Wis, and +2 Cha. Pre-req: Any one of the following Personality Masteries: Clutch Player, Deep Thinker, Healthy, Hyper, Lover Boy, Lucky Man, or Rich Boy. Special: You must defeat an enemy of 16 HD or higher that threatens your race.

Alien: Your search for knowledge and unusual experiences have turned you into an alien. Gain darkvision and low-light vision 120 ft. Gain +2 Natural AC, +10 base speed, and +3 on Will and Ref. saves. Can use the following spells at will: alter self, find the path (self only), invisibility (self only), identify, locate creature, locate object, read magic, speed reader, and tongues (self only). Caster level for these spells equals your character level. Gain +4 racial bonus on all Concentration, Craft, Decipher Script, Disable Device, Heal, Knowledge, Open Lock, Search, Sense Motive, and Use Magic Device checks. Can use Telepathy (the ability to communicate with creatures using your mind) up to 100 ft. range at will. Gain energy resistance fire 2, cold 2, acid 2, and electricity 2. Your maximum life span increases by 500 years. You do not breathe or sleep. Instead you enter a trance for 4 hours a day. You also gain +4 Dex, +2 Con, +4 Int, and +2 Wis. Pre-req: Any one of the following Personality Masteries: Calm, Deep Thinker, Depression, Healthy, Hyper, Rich Boy, or Vengeance. Special: You must kill or befriend an alien or unknown creature of 16 HD or higher.

Fire Elemental: Your devotion to fire has transformed you into a fire elemental. You are immune to fire/sun, poison, sleep effects, stunning, paralysis, critical hits, and flanking. Gain +15 ft. to your base speed. Gain +8 racial bonus to Hide checks when touching lava or fire. Gain darkvision 60 ft., damage reduction 3/magic, +3 on Ref. saves, and +1 natural AC. Enemies take 3 fire damage that ignores energy resistance/immunity every time they successfully hit you in melee combat. As a free action, you may alter your fiery body to be lethal or harmless to touch. All melee and ranged weapons you wield automatically deal +3 fire damage that ignores energy resistance/immunity. Any used projectile weapons, however, lose this extra fire damage 1 round after release. If you can cast fire/sun spells, add +1 caster level, +1 Spell DC, +1 attack roll, and +3 damage to those spells. Your body stops physically aging, so you no longer take penalties for aging, but you still gain the benefits of aging and you cannot die of old age. You do not eat, sleep, or breathe. You also gain +4 Dex and +2 Int. Pre-req: Any one of the following Personality Masteries: Deep Thinker, Depression, Environmentalist, Hyper, Mercenary, or Vengeance. Special: You must befriend or kill a fire elemental of 16 HD or higher.

Which Transformation is the best?
The answer: None.
Every Transformation is useful and powerful depending on how you create your character. For example: a spell caster who uses only elemental magic may want to take an elemental Transformation such as Air, Earth, Fire, or Water Elemental. However, the elemental Transformations do not give a lot of ability score boosts. Half-angel and Half-demon give a lot more ability score boosts. However, elemental transformations have a lot of great defensive immunities, damage reduction, AC boosts, and special movement capabilities such as flying, swimming, or moving through the earth. Elemental Transformations also boost the power of elemental spells.
This is just one of many tough decisions a player will have to make when selecting a Transformation Mastery. You may also want to choose different Transformation Masteries depending on storyline and plot events. Every single Transformation is awesome in different ways, I guarantee it.
