Players love magic because it breaks the laws of the universe. Magic allows you to do almost anything, which becomes a major problem for melee characters. I wanted magic to remain powerful, but not unbeatable. So I made magic more difficult to obtain. Being an effective spell caster in TIER requires multiple Masteries and high ability scores. There are also defensive Masteries that let you avoid, block, or reflect spells. This allows melee characters to have a fighting chance against magic.

In most games, it's difficult to choose between playing a physical or magic character. In TIER, you can easily create characters with both physical and magical attacks. One unique way of accomplishing this goal is to select mostly physical Masteries and 1 Magic Mastery called "Cleric Domain".
The Cleric Domain Mastery gives you access to 9 spells that are focused on one main idea. For example, the Water domain has all water spells. The Transformation domain has all spells that change your physical body into something else. The Athletics domain has all spells related to improving your athletic skills and physical stats. The Healing domain has all cure and healing spells.
TIER has many classic cleric domains and new domains which can help you create any kind of physical character with a little bit of magic. When you reach Epic levels, the Cleric Domain Mastery upgrades automatically by giving you another Cleric Domain. So at Epic levels, you have access to two Cleric Domains and a total of 18 spells.
There are many different character builds that can utilize both physical and magical attacks, but I want you all to figure it out on your own when you play the game.
