We just started a new campaign based on Walking Dead. I am the Dungeon Master and my main NPC is Sir Morgan Jones. Below and attached is all the information about our campaign, in case other DMs would like to use it.

Post-Apocalyptic TIER World Info
The world used to have multiple continents and cultures. Magic and wonder thrived everywhere.
But one day, a cult of necromancers went crazy and unleashed undead all over the world! A hundred mages stomped the world with armies of undead, cleansing the earth of the living and eventually becoming undead themselves. 85% of people around the world died, except a desert continent which survived thanks to the sandstorms and extended hours of sunlight. These conditions weakened and slowed down the mages and their armies of undead. The final battle was fought and won in that desert.
Peace returned at last, but at such a great cost that the gods decided to make a pact. They agreed to limit magic, ensuring that fewer people were born with magic in the future. All peoples’ memories were wiped, except a few key members. Most future people were born with a fear of magic and the undead. Additionally, the earth was reformed into one large desert continent (Scarlia) to prevent another undead war. There are oceans all around the continent, but they are very dangerous and people who sail into the oceans never return. The oceans have the gods’ pets who devour all intruders or spit them out to random areas of the continent.
The desert continent (Scarlia) only has one known major city, very prosperous, rich, and full of diverse people. Unfortunately, such diversity increases crime and nobody can be trusted. Clementine is a rogue and leader of the Thieves’ Guild, which controls crime in the city. The Church of Leo (god of justice) is the main police force in the city. Leaving the city is very dangerous and people who leave never return. However, people don’t need to leave because there is a large lake purified by magic, animals that have fast growth cycles to be used for food, and many farms with fast-growing plants. People who die in this city do not become undead because this city was created by the gods and they protect it with magic. If people die anywhere outside the city, however, they do become undead. Coincidentally, Morgan lives in a cave right outside the city walls. He considers it his duty to kill any monsters or undead wandering near the city walls. Morgan will join the players if they find him.
Outside the city, there are undead and mutated monsters hidden in the sandstorms. There are groups of desert tribesmen and green ogres/orcs who survive in the desert by hunting the monsters. These groups also hunt and kill each other, along with any outsiders they find. Sasha is with the desert tribesmen and will join the players if they find her. Additionally, there are sand sharks called Marauders. They are intelligent and even set traps to lure travelers and eat them. Lastly, the desert has numerous pitfalls and wild/random magic portals that lead to secret cities throughout the continent.
There is a secret underwater city of survivors with a cruel sea king who rules the city. Upon entering the underwater city, all people magically become mermen/mermaids. The sea king is powerful, cruel, and enjoys slavery. Those who follow the sea king are happy while those who oppose the sea king suffer. The sea king has a special power: when he grapples an enemy, he can suck the life force out of them and if the enemy dies, it becomes his undead minion and follows his commands. The queen is Judith Grimes, whom is being held against her will and needs to be rescued. Carol is in this city too, keeping a low profile and watching Judith from a distance.
There is a secret island surrounded by dangerous ocean water. The island has a volcano in the middle and two warring kingdoms on opposite sides of the volcano. One kingdom has snake folk and the other has lizard folk. They are constantly building weapons and trying to kill each other. Carl Grimes and Enid live with humans in a small village at the base of the volcano, stuck between the warring snake folk and lizard folk. Anyone who dies also becomes undead, creating further conflict and problems on the island. The volcano can erupt at any moment too.
There is a secret jungle paradise city with jungle people who are kind and survive amongst waterfalls and natural life. Father Gabriel is there as well, protecting an ancient Moonstone and helping people with his divine magic. There are dinosaurs and all kinds of dangerous animals residing in the jungle outside of the city, but they are never a problem until an evil druid begins controlling and corrupting everything (animals, dinosaurs, and plants/trees). The evil druid begins attacking the city. He also steals the Moonstone and uses it to increase his own power. The Moonstone allows him to transform animals, dinosaurs, and plants/trees into undead monsters. Additionally, he can transform himself into undead creatures as well.
There is another secret island full of evil undead and monsters. Michonne is out in the open, fighting for her life and trying to keep all danger away from Maggie, who is injured in a nearby cave. Michonne eventually becomes diseased with negative energy and suffers insanity. Players must find her, defeat her, and either heal her disease and insanity, or kill her. Maggie and Michonne (if saved) will return to Scarlia with the players after being rescued.
There are evil undead mages trapped by the gods in a secret sky city. These are the surviving mages who were responsible for the historical undead war. They cannot escape the sky city, but they spend their time studying and building endless magical wonders. However, anyone in the city who is not a mage is a slave. Eugene is an undead mage living amongst them as well. The mages will eventually escape the sky city, then raise undead and havoc upon Scarlia as revenge against the gods for trapping them in the sky city!
There is a secret city in a pocket dimension with both people and robots! Heimerdinger, a gnome and Chosen of Tinkerton (god of technology), created the pocket dimension and manages the city with magic and technology. All is well until two undead mages, who escaped the sky city, find this secret pocket dimension and raise havoc. One mage uses mind-control and diseases to make people sick and attack each other! The second mage attacks Heimerdinger, seizes control of his headquarters, and makes robots attack the people as well! Group must stop both mages! Don’t forget that anyone who dies becomes undead too. Rosita lives in this city and will help the players.
Lastly, the Planes of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water are being plagued by undead who accidentally appeared in these planes after the historical undead war. These undead are attacking elementals and transforming them into undead elementals! The players must go to each plane and kill all the undead. Each plane has an elder elemental who is the strongest. If the elder elemental becomes undead, this can be a scary and exciting boss battle. These planes may also have any other surviving Walking Dead characters that were forgotten or not included above.
In order to save Scarlia from the evil undead mages of the sky city, the Moonstone needs to be recharged in a volcano full of aggressive fire elementals. Once recharged, it becomes the Sunstone and can be used to create weapons and items needed to destroy the undead mages and save Scarlia at the end of the campaign. However, only Eugene can utilize the Sunstone correctly. Eugene is trapped in the sky city, but he may not want to leave nor help the players depending on the situation and the Game Master’s discretion.
Once all heroes are gathered, they will prepare to fight a war against all the evil undead mages and their undead armies!
Sir Morgan Jones’ Biography
20 years ago, Morgan fought during the undead wars. He was a knight for King Rick Grimes. All of his family and friends died (or so he believes). He retains these awful memories, but nobody else believes him since they all lost their memories. The earth speaks to him, so he considers the earth his only friend. He travels alone throughout the desert, trying to save people and help them find safety, and occasionally visits the main city (all because he’s lonely or always wants to stay busy, not for the sake of being good). People are afraid of him because he has healing magic (magic scares people). Now he’s unsure of his purpose in this new world, he doesn’t know how he fits into the big picture. He’s not sure whether to try restoring the world back to normal or not. He’s not sure what to care about because everyone stopped caring about him. He used to be rigid with his beliefs, but his family and friends died. He’s also miserable when alone, but people are scared of him. He doesn’t know what’s right or wrong anymore and lives a neutral life. He used to never kill, but now he does whatever it takes to get the job done because his friends and family died in his past life when he hesitated to kill enemies. The heroes are Morgan’s only hope of finding purpose and happiness. Morgan will become an Earth Elemental in the future.
