Welcome to our newest campaign! It takes place in a Hogwarts magic school in North America during the 1950s. Read below for Quest Logs about our amazing adventures. Enjoy!
Day 1 – Getting to Hogwarts
It was the year 1950 and I was 13 years old when I found out that I was going to Hogwarts, a magical school in North America. I didn’t want to go, but my parents wouldn’t take No for an answer, so I decided to have one last crazy day before I leave. I called my friends and we tried to do a bank heist! My friends were total jokers and clowns, entering the bank and distracting everyone. They hit on female bank tellers, talked with strangers, and even faked an injury. All of these distractions allowed me to use magic, transform into a cloud, and sneak behind the bank desk. I tried entering the bank vault, but it had magical seals protecting it. I thought it was just a typical muggle bank, but I was wrong. I decided to back off and rob the bank tellers instead. I stole a pair of keys and a wallet with 40 dollars and two credit cards! I tried leaving, but two elemental creatures kidnapped me and forced me to go home and prepare for my departure to Hogwarts.
Next day I woke up, got ready to go, and said goodbye to my parents. My parents were both super busy and didn’t even have time to take me to the train station. I left home feeling annoyed at my parents and arrived at the train station, accompanied by my two elemental “friends”. I met a bunch of weirdos, total nerds who didn’t know anything about being cool. I was already dreading the idea of going to Hogwarts, probably a place full of nerds. Nonetheless, we decided to stick together since we were all new to everything.
My whole perspective changed when I began buying stuff for Hogwarts. I used most of my parents’ money to buy a pimp robe; I looked so good! I bought standard textbooks, writing supplies, etc. I didn’t buy a magical broom because I can already fly without one. However, I got a bad-ass dragonbone wand that was over 12 inches long! It chose me and I was grateful. I also got the most gangster black owl familiar ever! His name was vanilla and he wore boxing gloves…weird right? The store owner said that owl never liked anyone, but when he saw me, I gave him a fist bump and he totally chose me! I ran outside and saw a group of cool looking kids, so I made my entrance into their group and showed off my pimp robe and gangster owl. We even did a fist bump together and everyone loved it, especially a girl named Christina.
After we all got our stuff, we went to the magic bank and opened an account. The goblin bank teller was super stingy, but helpful. I handed him the wallet and keys that I stole and he converted it all into 1,040 gold! I ran to the cool kids, who were eating lunch at a magic restaurant, and paid 40 gold for everyone’s food! They totally loved me and I convinced Christina to sneak away with me for a little romantic fun. I kinda cheated though because I used a Cheering Charm spell to make her feel happy, which helped my chances of hooking up with her. We were kissing and about to go further, but her mom called for her and she had to go. As a random side-note, I noticed something strange when I left the magic bank. I noticed a devious goblin with a Hogwarts shirt, clearly he wasn’t a normal bank worker and was up to something.
Afterward, I re-joined my group and we arrived at the train station. I saw lots of people waiting around and I couldn’t resist the chance to have some fun. My group went into the train early and I asked them to save me a seat. Meanwhile, I started beat-boxing, rapping, and dancing with my gangster owl. We totally impressed everyone, but not everyone was happy about it. Iskandor, a Macedonian kid in our group, tried casting magic to sabotage me, but he was too far away. There was another kid in our group named Hocus Pocus, the weirdest kid I’ve ever met, who kept following me all day and I even had to ditch him a couple times. He was angry with me, so he tried sending his cat familiar to mess with me, but the cat stumbled and got stepped on accidentally by people, so he failed too.
I found my friends inside the train and we sat together. We talked a bit and got to know each other better. Nykyrian, the last member of our group, was smart, nice, and down to earth, so I tried becoming close friends with him. Nothing crazy happened on the train, so we arrived safely and got off the train. Then we got onto a boat and slowly reached Hogwarts. It was extravagant-looking and a guided tour took us throughout the magic school. Afterward, we sat down at numerous tables and listened to the Headmaster’s speech. Ironically, the Headmaster was also that devious goblin from the magic bank! I kept the secret to myself.
After the speech, they brought out the Sorting Hat and began putting students into their respective houses: Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, and Gryffindor. I was jealous that Hocus Pocus, Iskandor, and Nykyrian all had a chance to talk and negotiate with the Sorting Hat. I, however, was immediately thrown into Slytherin, with Hocus Pocus! That kid is so annoying! Luckily, Christina was placed in Slytherin as well. Her close friend (Sarah) was placed in Hufflepuff, and I think Hocus Pocus likes her. Iskandor and Nykyrian were placed in Ravenclaw, where I totally wanted to be due to my family heritage.
When we entered our respective houses and rooms, I quickly adapted to everything and made friends. I realized how strong-minded and determined Slytherin members were, which made me immediately love Slytherin. They encouraged me to participate in activities and utilize my magic to the fullest. They didn’t want me to hold back at all, which was great! I felt like I had total freedom to do everything I wanted. I felt like I fit in perfectly, and Christina stayed by my side the whole way through, which made me feel happy and confident. We spent time together in the common room and mystery room, talking and hanging out, until midnight when the headboy of Slytherin told us to go to sleep.
The next day we received our schedules and attended classes. Our first class was Potions, which was interesting. I had no idea what to do, so I sat next to Nykyrian and observed him carefully, copying his every step to create an antidote for paralysis. Next class was History, a subject I thoroughly enjoyed. I answered a question about the history of the school, but once again, Nykyrian stole the show and answered many other knowledge-based questions. He earned many points for Ravenclaw, but I wasn’t far behind and Hocus Pocus was helping too. Next class was about magical creatures, and I totally rocked! I answered questions and provided lots of information for the class, which earned us many points for Slytherin. After classes, we met up with our friends for lunch and exchanged information about similar classes to help each other out.
After lunch, we attended the Dark Arts class, where I surprisingly shined brightly. We learned how to perform Expeliarmus, a wand-disarming spell, and I made a dummy explode! Hocus Pocus, however, had great trouble with this spell and even stayed after class in order to learn it. Next class was Transfiguration, where we learned how to transform objects into random things and creatures. I performed well here, earning Slytherin more points and we took the lead. Lastly came P.E. class, which was all about broom riding. I sucked at this because I didn’t care about it. I could already fly with magic, so I didn’t see the point in using a broom. Hocus Pocus stole the show and rode his broom like a badass! He helped us seal the deal, ensuring that Slytherin had more points than any other house at the end of the day! Iskandor also performed well in broom flying, which led to both Iskandor and Hocus Pocus joining Hogwarts Quidditch teams!
At the end of the day, I returned to House Slytherin and met up with Christina. We talked for a while and ate dinner together. We also briefly saw Hocus Pocus and Sarah together at dinner, and then they left together too. After dinner, we decided to do our homework together. We spent an hour trying to do homework, but we just chatted a lot and shared stories about our classes. Then we met another Slytherin girl names Rebecca. She was very studious and tried helping us for another hour, but once again, we talked a lot and she finished her work, but we did not. Rebecca left to her room and I decided to finish studying with Christina in the mystery room. It was dark in there, so I cast light magic, which helped me study much better. Christina, however, was distracted by my magic, so I had to work extra hard to help her finish her work. After completing everything, she rested in my arms in the common room. It felt amazing, the first time any beautiful girl had ever done this with me. I promised her that I would always watch her back if she watched mine. At midnight, we went to our separate rooms.
Next day was Saturday, which meant no classes and a chance to take care of personal business. I convinced Christina to join two social clubs: Student Government and Vortex Club. On our way to the Student Government meeting, we ran into eight Gryffindor students who started bullying us. Thankfully, I’m a quick-thinking bad ass, so I cast Fly magic on myself, grabbed Christina, and got us both out of trouble. She kinda thought I was a wuss for running away, but I know that I made the right decision.
Once we reached the Student Government club, we talked, met people, and voted for positions. I convinced everyone that I should be Treasurer and I helped Christina become Secretary! This was a huge victory for House Slytherin and I, having access to money is always a plus.
After that club, we moseyed over to Vortex Club and bumped into four Gryffindor guys along the way. This time their leader wanted to talk a bit. I tried convincing him not to fight me, but he was very determined. We both first tried disarming each other with Expeliarmus, but failed. Then I created clouds of smoke to use for hiding and moving around. I caught the leader’s goons by surprise and took them all out with the Stinking Cloud spell. The leader, however, was more resilient and unaffected by the spell. He eventually cast a weak version of the Stupefy Charm on me and it put me on my ass. Thankfully, Christina helped me up and I convinced her that it was a good time for us to leave the battle, so I cast Fly and got us both out of there.
When we reached the Vortex Club, we found out that it was mostly consistent of Slytherin and Gryffindor students. The club is responsible for all parties and festivities in school. Christina and I made friends with everyone and the first school event was already being planned. It’s a celebration for all 1st year students. Some members wanted to keep it boring and lame, but House Slytherin and I wanted it to be extra spectacular with magic flying everywhere. The club leader even wanted a wild magic battle in the sky between a Gryffin and a Snake. We left the meeting feeling very excited for the future.
I had two more quick jobs that I wanted to do and Christina gladly joined me. I wanted to visit the Headmaster, but he wasn’t available, so I left him a nice note. It basically said “I think you are amazing and inspiring. I saw you in disguise as a bank teller at the magic bank and thought that was super cool. Thank you very much for letting me join your magic school.”
Then I wanted to visit the main office and ask about their electricity grid for the school. I specialize in air/electricity magic, so I thought that maybe I could somehow help improve the electricity system and make it more efficient. Unfortunately, the people in charge of this were not available either, so Christina and I returned to House Slytherin and hungout together for the rest of the day. We pretty much solidified the fact that we liked each other and promised to watch each other’s backs and do everything together. I approve
