Week 7
The beach was fine, but the rest of Wakanda was a winter wasteland. A blizzard was making it nearly impossible to travel. Elemental monsters kept flanking and attacking us with electricity, fire, cold, and earth magic. We could barely see anything, but Spiderman’s extrasensory abilities kept us alive and aware of enemy attacks.
At some point, we ran into four fire elementals. They barbecued us with fire and lava! During battle I got tackled into lava and lost my clothing! I was so caught up in battle that I didn’t even notice it. Starfire pointed it out later and quickly covered me up with palm fronds. She took a few minutes and made a pretty good outfit for me. That was nice of her.
Thankfully, Black Panther found us in the woods. He told us what was really going on in Wakanda. Storm was taken over by the Phoenix! She kept chanting “No more armies, technology, and people! This land belongs to the natural world!” She created numerous elemental monsters and had them destroy all buildings and unnatural things in Wakanda. The only thing left standing is the great pyramid/temple of Wakanda, where Storm and her strongest monsters now reside.
Black Panther safely guided us the rest of the way to the temple. Spiderman, Black Panther, and I are pretty stealthy, but Starfire is not. We snuck inside carried her the whole way through, hiding behind statues, following quietly along walls, and running between shadows. We traveled through 10 floors to reach Storm at the top of the temple. We got spotted twice along the way and had to fight annoying battles with elementals. On the 9th floor. Black Panther stayed behind to fight against elementals while Spiderman, Starfire, and I entered the last room to meet Storm.
Storm was flowing with power, not a fight we really want to jump into. Starfire lied to her and said that we were here to join her cause. She believed Starfire and they began talking for a bit. Then Starfire told Storm that the X-men were coming to mess up everything. She also reminded Storm of her X-men friends and confused her. This gave us the perfect chance to surprise attack Storm and her elemental monsters.
We threw our best attacks at Storm and I even disabled her arms temporarily, but it barely hurt her. She performed four powerful magic attacks every round! Giant fiery arms would reach out, grab you, slam you into the ground, and then she’d fire lightning bolts at you while you’re pinned down. Her elemental monsters were silver-colored, and we soon find out why. They each had command over all four elements. They would launch fireballs, freezing spells, summon giant earth hands to grapple you, or electrocute you.
We all did our fair share of ass-kicking and took a hard beating too. After getting tag-teamed by all our enemies, I had a momentary fit of rage and brutally demolished an elemental monster. I disabled its arms, pinned it down, beat it into the ground, and sonic screamed it to death.
We were fighting a losing battle until Black Panther came in and helped. At first he pleaded with Storm to fight against the Phoenix’s control, but that didn’t work. Then Black Panther got the final blow and knocked Storm unconscious.
The Phoenix flew out of Storm’s body and was starting to shake and destroy the temple! Starfire did something awesome and surprising. She flew into the air and forcefully absorbed the Phoenix into her own body! Then the JLA teleported Starfire into a special capsule to trap and neutralize the Phoenix. It was a bit scary, but the JLA managed to safely remove the Phoenix from Starfire’s body without harm. It took a few days though, and Starfire/Phoenix was writing a journal entry…
